Meditation for Women in Prison

The second year of the course of Meditation for Women held at the Rebibbia prison of Rome, led by Dario Doshin Girolami, has just started.

More than twenty women follow the course in the largest female detention center in Europe. Often we talk about meditation courses for imprisoned men and never enough of those for women in prison.

Although women represent only 5.4% of the total number of people detained in Europe, they must not be marginalized within the prison world that is – as any other part of the society – predominantly male.
