2017 Council of Europe Exchange on the religious dimension of intercultural dialogue

On 6th and 7th of November 2017 in Strasbourg the Council of Europe (CoE) Exchange on the religious dimension of intercultural dialogue focused on “Migrants and refugees: challenges and opportunities – What role for religious and non-religious groups?”

2017 Council of Europe Exchange on the religious dimension of intercultural dialogue

The participants from religions and schools of thoughts from the 47 CoE member states where asked to prepare papers for the two Sub-themes where: “From reception to integration: the role of religious and non-religious groups” and “The role of religious and non-religious groups in the development of migration policy”.

The meeting started with the commemoration in honour of the late Ambassador Guido Bellatti Ceccoli, Permanent Representative of San Marino to the Council of Europe, for his important contribution to the Exchange.

This year three women have represented Buddhism

This year three women have represented Buddhism:

  • Gabriela Frey (EBU Coordinator for European affaires and representative to the EU & CoE),
  • Trudy Frederiksson from the Buddhist Cooperation Council Sweden and
  • Carola Roloff (Ven. Bhiksuni Jampa Tsedroen) senior researcher at the Academy of World Religions prepared both a written contribution.
